Probably my most favourite and memorable day of the entire holiday.
We booked this last minute on Viator (to get away from the seaweed infested beach of punta cana) and it was a delight from that point onwards. I was contacted via WhatsApp and informed of meeting times and locations.
The day started early with a hotel pickup.. we was introduced to our guide Mr "Whappah" & "ai ai aiiii"

Excellent day - really well organised and informative. Transfers were seamless and on time. Whatsapp received day before trip with details. Our tour guide, Danny Boy & our bus driver, Boriga, were great fun, informative and went above and beyond to ensure everyone was safe and enjoying every part of the day. The staff on the boats providing drinks and the photographers were all excellent too. Naomiâs music & dancing with rum on the catamaran on the way back was a fab end to an excellent day! The island is absolutely stunning- clear turquoise waters and bright white sand. Like the Maldives of the Dominican! Highly recommend this trip to anyone who wishes to visit paradise on Saona Island âïž

Very organized, I loved spending time on both the speed boat and the catamaran and we got to Saona island early enough to get chairs before it got busy. The water in the natural pool was so clear and blue, much different from the beach at the resort. Very glad I went, guide Cristian was great! Only negative for me was all the vendors trying to sell to you on the beach, it became annoying and disruptive.
Tip- wear easy on/off shoes as you need to remove them multiple times on the boat.

The lagoon stop was remarkably beautiful! The island is a highlight for DR experience. Photo packages are absurdly expensive! Take your own waterproof camera! Book the longest day trip there possible, it went by way too fast! The speed boat trip was a thrill ride, but my favorite was the catamaran back. My preference would be catamaran both ways with more guide info and culture info.

So much fun. Wonderful people as well as scenery. Most of all My whole group felt safe and cared for! only our second day in the Dominican, and it was a great start to our trip. Food. drinks and transportation were great. Would definitely recommend.

such a memorable experience! I highly recommend! the tour guide was so nice & very patient with everyone. l found out I couldâve paid for this excursion for 40 bucks at the airport, save some coins for whoever reads this!
Perfect if you can get past the tourists and long bus ride! Very unique island:)

I would say all the reviews are pretty accurate. Saona island is beautiful and a must see! I didn't think it would be much different than any other beaches but it was beyond incredible and priceless. Definitely worth the money for an all-day boat trip and food/drinks.
The bus was about 2 hours picking everyone up, starting at 630am. We did stop for a bathroom break which was good because the boat ride there is 1 hour speedboat and 2 hour catamaran on the way back. The boat rides alone were very enjoyable and laid-back. We had 2.5 hours on the island. The open bar is only on the island and very limited. I didn't mind since I'm not a big drinker but they only had rum, whiskey, and soda. The food was decent (fruit, different meats, rice, noodles, bread, etc). But this is a huge tourist trap. Countless vendors trying to sell stuff on the way to the island and on the island. If you can get past the hundreds of tourists everywhere and the long transit, it was perfect! The bus was also coach and had good ac. Dannyboy was our tour guide and he was amazing. Entertained us during the bus.

What a great day! 10/10 trip from all points of view. Food was great, buffet on the beach with an assortment of meats and variety of sides, fruits and vegetables. Drinks available at all times and everyone was great fun. Thank you Danny, our guide, as well as the entire team who were fun and always made sure we were having a good time. No man was left behind as Danny always made sure the group was safe and that they knew what they were doing.
Please do not pay attention to the negative reviews around transport. Yes, there are a few stops involved, but we did not pay for vip private transfer

Danny Boy was our guide and he was very informative and nice with us. Do not miss Saona is heaven on earth.The bad part is that the staying on island is a little to short2~2:30 hours.
This will be one of the best trips you take. Do it!!

We booked this trip based on the reviews and glad we did. It was one of the best things we did. They recommend leaving the resort so you can see the rest of the Dominican Republic. It was the best trip. You see our hotel resort was in the Atlantic Ocean and the island is I. The Caribbean. Two totally different scenes and bodies of water. Get off your grounds and check out Saona Island.

really great trip! weather wasnt great, but obviously that wasnt their fault :) dani boy was a great guide , good english, and informative as well as taking good care of the group! buffet was good, beach was nice, but a lot of rocks, and we hurt ourselves in the ocean :( the travel to/back hotel was slightly chaotic, but otherwise good!! would definitely recommend :)

Danny Boy was a good tour guide. Switching boats was kinda scary. The local stop was good. Everyone wants to be tipped.

The water and beach itself were absolutely amazing and like something out of a movie. With that being said the vendors selling items were not pushing but there were so many that it seemed that all you do was say no thanks repeatedly. This started from the moment you get off the bus, all day at the island and then again when you are going to get back on the bus to go back to your resort. However the entertainment on the catamaran was more concerning and border line inappropriate. The sexual in nature flamboyant dancing by one individual made myself and my wife very uncomfortable. We were not the only ones as evident on in the facial expressions of others. While certain people did enjoy it, it was not for everyone.
