Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! It's time to rip up the Dominican off-road and get a bit muddy. Join Macao Buggies, THE Buggy experts with the BEST off-road Route in Punta Cana. Our awesome Route has THREE stops, now let us set the scene
Stop 1: Visit a sleepy country plantation for an intro on some of the Dominican Republic's most sought after produce: cacao, coffee, tobacco and Mamajuana (a Dominican aphrodisiac elixir) Yes, you can drink and drive here
Stop 2: Descend into a picturesque cave replete with a subterranean river perfect for swimming. Jump in, cool off and wash off
Stop 3: Take in Macao Beach. One of the last ‘resort free’ coastal stretches of Punta Cana, Macao is the idealistic Caribbean shore with amber sands, rows of coconut palms and azure waters.

Had a great experience the tour started with buggies, then swim in the cenote(water felt amazing) , chocolate/tea/mamajuana tasting, a show and concluded with some dancing. My family had fun. They don’t take you to the beach tho and some of their buggies aren’t in good condition.
Will not do it again.

Lack of communication from the shuttle service. We were scheduled to be picked up at 0720 and after multiple calls we were told their driver made a mistake and we had no other choice but to take the 1050 tour or the 1350. No consideration towards the time we have been waiting. The vehicles are poorly maintained. We experienced multiple boogies broken down among the road. Our vehicle felt very unsafe and it was leaking fluid, when we addressed the issue they brushed it off and made us feel as if we were an imposition. The description was of the tour was very misleading. Definitely I would spend my money at another tour.
Too rushed

The buggies were fun but there is limited time as they cram 3 stops in 2.5 hours so everything was rushed.
First stop was to see how they make Coffee, Chocolate and Mama Juana but really it is an opportunity to get you to spend money.
Second stop was Macao beach which is absolutely sunning! Unfortunately there is 5 minutes of swimming and rush rush back to the buggies although not too fussed as there were lots of pestering about buying food, drink and souvenirs there.
Last stop was the caves which again was pretty but we were not able to go in as there was no advise on suitable footwear as you need footwear that will allow you to climb out.
Lots of waiting around at the beginning of the trip and lots of confusion for us as most communication was in Spanish until they divided us into groups.
Transport took almost an hour and half to get there so bit of a long winded day.
Didn’t show up and forgot to let us know

Experience was good. But we booked for an 8am tour and waited outside the hotel lobby for pick up and only found out when we message the host that their buggies “broke down” and they forgot to tell us. We had the option of going at 10:30 instead. The tour was only supposed to be 4 hours but it was very hectic and disorganized it was just over 6 hours.. Not exactly how we planned to spend our last day in Punta Cana.
